Classical concert by young opera singers
—Charm of voices

This is an ensemble concert of famous composers' songs and opera by young opera singers who are playing active roles mainly in Kansai. Through this concert, which marks its second performance this year following the one held last year, the attractiveness of the vocalists' voices and pleasure of opera will be transmitted. In Part 1, which will deliver songs of several countries (Italy, France, Germany, and Japan) and a vocal ensemble (vocal quartet), the audience will enjoy the differences between the countries' music and languages.
In Part 2, the attractiveness of opera will be introduced through excerpts of scenes with songs worth listening to from many opera numbers. This time the audience will appreciate young opera singers' energetic performances of excerpts from the programs, such as "The Marriage of Figaro," "The Magic Flute," "Madame Butterfly," and "Romeo and Juliet."
This concert is intended to introduce each country's songs and opera in an easy to understand way, so that people in Osaka and people visiting Osaka can become more familiar with classical music.
The "Charm of Voices," which is composed of members with rich musical expertise from Italy, France, Germany, and Japan, is a special program unique to the Osaka Culture Arts Festival, in which the audience can closely enjoy various countries' songs and opera, which is usually enjoyed only in an opera house in a concert style.
This time, not only piano-playing but also musical performances and accompaniment to opera overtures by a saxophone quartet will be held. The saxophone is a musical instrument which is often used for jazz music and pop music, and is rarely used for performances and accompaniment to opera. However, from the viewpoint of the creation of a new charm of culture and arts in Osaka, the saxophone will be fused with opera as a challenging attempt in this event.
Through both of these programs, the attractiveness of vocalists' voices and differences in and characteristics of various types of male and female voices (such as soprano, alto, tenor, and bass) will be introduced. Since songs of foreign languages will be sung in the original languages, Japanese subtitles will be displayed on the stage. We are sure you will love the music created on the stage!
